My latest SS check was deposited in my US bank yesterday. Maybe the latest scheme will begin next month?

Good news. I expect a deposit on Friday the third of January and I am not expecting to be affected by a "new scheme" in the near future.

I listened to the audio in the YouTube vídeo and it clearly indicated that SS payments sent directly from the SSA to foriegn banks might arrive some days later beginng in January. The reason given was to allow more time for the foriegn banks yo process rhe transaction.

Even though my registered address wirh the SSA is in Argentina, and my monthly benefits are directy deposited into my US bank, and in spite of the assertion here that the new (delayed) payment dates will apply to all SS recipients living abroad, the benefits letter that I recieved from the SSA on December 26, 2024, indicated that I should (continue to) recieve my benefits by the third day of the month, and I expect them to continue to arrive a day or two before that if the third of the month falls on a Saturday or a Sunday.

I'll know more about the January payment in two days and post wjhat happens ..mor doesn't.

My January benefit was deposited on Dec 31 in my US credit union account. I wasn't expecting it until January 11, according to the new payment schedule.

I just went on the social security website to my exact account and it says how much I will get including the new year cola increase and what day. I get it exactly the same date as last year on the 3rd!

NEWSFLASH:

The January SS payment was recieved as always during the wee small house of the morning and a Western Union transfer was successfully executed at 6 am.

...recieved "as always'" on or before rhe third day of the month.

When the third day of the month falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the benefits have been deposited on the first or the second.
