Looting flares up in Bariloche

http://www.anbariloc....php?nota=33133

Tensions returns. The situation is again out of control. Now about 100 people entered the supermarket Chango more, adding to the previous 50 had been deterred. The police is not enough. Neighbors managed to take goods. Some reported being beaten by police. Broke windows and facilities, gates and perimeter fencing. Products transported in carts, food and appliances. Police reinforcements were presented and controlled the situation, but again regrouped around 100 people who entered and are looting the place. Stoned police officers. No detainees. "We spilled," the police. The brigade BORA is in place, but the staff is not enough. The confrontation is melee. Police teargas strip. Arrived at the scene the Mayor's Private Secretary, Oscar Borchichi. Police driving can hypothesize that repeated attempts to foray into other businesses. We will expand.

Close other supermarkets. Goye is in Buenos Aires.

Following the events of plunder against Chango Mas supermarket, other shops and supermarkets chose to close their doors. Still no statement from municipal or provincial governments. The mayor is Omar Goye Bariloche. According to his private secretary, is in Buenos Aires "signed agreements".

Onelli Street Traders, Moreno, Angel Gallerdo and Mitre decided to close its doors, in the wake of the violence and looting that generates a group of people in the supermarket Chango Mas and fearing that the situation extends to the rest of the city.

The private secretary, Oscar Borchichi, Chango Mas supermarket arrived around 1150. Speaking to News Six said "come to see the picture of a situation that is, it's pretty serious." He said they asked police intervention and the Gendarmerie Black River "to see which operating ride."

Asked by Mayor Omar Goye, acknowledged that "in Buenos Aires" and said that it was "by the signing of some agreements." Until noon not observed presence of security forces in the streets.

Geez. What's the full story behind this? How's it affecting the rest of the city?

Changomas (the supermarket) is on main route out of Bariloche by the poorer neighbourhoods. There are rumours that the violence will come to the centre now that the police are all protecting the supermarket!

It's just a social crisis (there is no social help for the poor people), people don't have work, money and can't pay for food over the Christmas season. Some people haven't been paid 'aginaldo'... maybe the start of things to come or an isolated incident...?

Looks like Santa is going to be bringing a lot of flat screen TV's to those neighborhoods this year...

Well, they don't appear to be stealing food if those images are to be believed. Flat screen tvs, toys, goods - not food.
