Ahh- the United States?

I live on a Salmon River, and have dozens of friends who are Salmon Fishermen, both in the Continental US, and in Alaska.
Nobody around here will touch farmed salmon with a ten foot pole. I can tell the difference with the first bite. That farmed stuff tastes like soyburger compared to a real fish.
Homie dont order no salmon in BsAs.

I worked in a Scottish fish farm a long time ago picking out bad salmon fish eggs so the good ones could be boxed and sent to canada and grown as "Scottish Salmon". :lol:

I once had job as a cook in a seafood restaurant in New Mexico. My first task of the day was to start thawing out the "fresh" fish.

OP: As mentioned before, lentils, garbanzos, and beans are excellent sources of protein, especially when eaten with complex carbohydrates like brown rice.

The best source for fish I have found is the local "neighborhood market" that rotates in the city. In San Telmo it is every Saturday and Tuesday. The city government puts it on so you need to check their website.
For 60 pesos you can get a kilo of merluza/pink salmon hamburgers which are very good.
I always look at what is fresh but I have bought red tuna for 45 pesos the kilo (NOT tuna del sur, which is albacore, don´t buy it), they don´t have it all the time, suribi (river fish, smells awful when you cook it but very yummy) and merluza negra. You need to pick and choose.

English "tuna" is Spanish "atún." "Tuna" in Spanish is prickly pear cactus (which Mexicans eat), both the fruit and the meat of the plant.

Farmed is close to garbage. Full of hormores and antibiotics and fed with dog food. Fished in USA, AKA Alaska, Wash state. Canada.Want some more
