Springtime Bolivariana . Students Revolt

Maduro WON ? by a narrow margin. In the early 20th. Century the Feudal Patrones used to buy the peones vote by giving them a mattress or a blanket In the 21st. century the populistic rulers of a para-democracy, buy the votes by prey and splurging Plans. So nothing changed

Yes Maduro won. And Bush lost. Facts are stubborn things.

Its rather disingenuous to pretend to compare, free education, free universal healthcare, free public transportation and assisted housing plans for those with familial hardships with a " mattress and blanket ".

The reality is, the things Venezuela is giving to its citizens is what governments should. Not proxy wars and invasions around the world, or trillion dollar bail outs to " harvard " graduate crooks and banksters. But here is where this arguments ends. You and I both have the right to opine. Venezuelas are going to make their own choices. People can seek change through democratic processes or they can seek it through violence. The outcomes will reflect the paths taken.

How can this be seen as no big deal?

Motorcycle militias driving around shooting people. BA has motochorros who hop off the bike, grab a purse, and then hop back on. What if instead they drove around with Uzis, saw some people that looked too "upper-middle class" and so they shot them? Would that be a big deal?

You can see it here: http://ciudadbizarra...para-sensibles/ WARNING: Graphic Violence

This is a "democratically elected" corpse's puppet VP taking office and then into Assad under the direction of Cuba, because if Cuba loses access to Venezuela's oil, then it's over. And why is there a "REVOLUTION" in a democracy? And why does it last 14 years when the same party keeps "winning" elections while shutting out all opposing views? That's not a "revolution".

Finally someone who tells the Truth!

We'll soon know about Venezuelan mass graves in the region of Timisoaralas

We'll learn shortly that the pseudo-democratic crypto-leninino-trostkysto-marxist Venezuelan regim has stolen babies in the city of Dubaimos

And we, the Free world, will need to attack them to restore democracy when the exfiltrated General Colinos Ferrouellos will bring the proof they produce WMDs!

Vive l'Empereur, Vive la Liberté !

Whatever is happening in Venezuela, it is their problem. I think Maduro and his predecessor exemplify everything that is wrong with Latin American politics. That being said, I think all other countries should stay out of it. It is up to the Venezuelans to sort it out if Maduro is a legitimate president or not.

Maduro WON ? by a narrow margin.

Indeed!

A good Democracy should be a country where you get elected if you lose by a narrow margin, the concept invented by the Greeks needs to be perfected, let's do it! We can!

Jack Jack you are a true Camporista you edited my posting eliminating the buying votes by Money Printing issue...? It's an old trick mate. :D never mind I get your point.

Talking about being disingenuous: ensuring that people have access to the basic food products and can move safely without getting shot is not something a government should?

there is nothing peaceful about these protests. They arent even protests. A protest last for a day or two, people express their discontent and go home and during the next elections, they vote their interests. These tools are actually trying to topple a popular democratically elected government through the use of violence, force, misinformation and propaganda from the usual cast of characters. Nothing new here, if the average easily manipulated armchair politico had a memory longer than the 24 hour news cycle, theyd recall this has been going on in most if not all pro Russian anti Nato countries in the past couple of years. Its a simple strategy the " anti government flash mobs ". Just imagine if this happened in the US. How long would it take the current administration and their propaganda news lackeys to label armed violent molotov cocktail throwing " peaceful protestors " terrorists? If you need a minute to think about it, youre clearly one of the dummies in the equation.

How does Venezuela qualify as a democracy when the opposition was first banned from running in elections and then jailed? The Inter-American Court of Human Rights duly ruled that this action was illegal. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopoldo_L%C3%B3pez. Or was that all US conspiracy? Oh wait, the US isn't a member of the Inter-American court of human rights. I recommend you revise your nebulous definition of democracy.

The problem here is also that no one can be sure Maduro actually won. The photos of ballet boxes that had been burned were all over twitter and Facebook. The elections were clearly manipulated. Also, how many people legitimately voted or voted because they might lose their job? To me, that is not democracy. Also, if Maduro is committing illegal actions (which I find highly likely), then he should be removed from office. Cristina should be removed from office for stealing public money. Presidents must be held to the same standard as the rest of us.

Most of the Students that protested, at least on Twitter and Facebook, had a concrete claim. They were protesting against the lack of police protections and inseguridad. Others, not so much.

I would say that 1st of all, Maduro should not have been eligible because Chavez died in Cuba before he was sworn in and under their constitution, the sitting VP would not be eligible to run in the special election.

Secondly, there were massive efforts to suppress the vote. I mean on a state of Florida level scale. (And recently seen a Republican Senator from Tennessee when the VW plant employees voted whether or not to unionize.)

And on the subject of Florida, Venezuela closed their consulate in Miami at the last minute so those wishing to vote absentee had to travel via bus to New Orleans. That would be like the Bolivian consulate closing at the last minute in Buenos Aires and requiring voters to make their way to Puerto Madryn. Why BOLIVIAN? And not Venezuelan? Because Miami has a MASSIVE number of Venezuelan refugees/expats.

Also, I don't believe that one person besides Frenchie has suggested that "The West Invade". Of course the US backs the opposition, but they're not currently suppressing the Venezuelan media, their not sending death squads into neighborhoods to gun down pedestrians, and they're not holding fascist rallies and promoting fascist ideals and then calling their opponents fascists.

There are things that can be done without invading. And these things start with other governments saying "We won't condone this and here's what we're going to do in response to this." And that's certainly not coming out of the like-minded mouths in the pink house and their slush-fund empowered brute squads.
