Sube Card Cash Top Up

Consulta, por favor! Did the latest 5-year plan pull the plug on cash top-ups, or is it just the moon out-of-phase? I've been out of Sube miles for a couple of days now, and each & every kiosko on Ave. Santa Fe tells me 'no can do, but try your luck at the subway station'. Am I missing something here? the electronic system goes down all the time. you just have to be persistent.
Usually El Jeve will do it, and there are a ton of them on Santa Fe.

Just go down to the subway, give the ticket clerk some cash, say "Para recargar," and hold your card up to the reader.
You don’t need to take a train.

There's a place on Juncal very near the intersection with Rodriguez Pena that will charge up your card.

the last few times I took the subway, there was nobody in the booth.
Its been years since they were there everyday all day near my house.
If you have a dni, you can register your sube card, you can then recharge online directly from your bank account.
But many kioskos in every barrio recarga sube cards, and its fast and easy. 10,000 pesos max right now.

It could be that they are out of credit. They only get so many pesos allocated per day/week.

Well, all good advice, and I appreciate your collective response. Alas, if it only were that easy! I actually (not literally) stopped at each & every kiosko on my usual 2k trek from Retiro to my gym, and it was "no" across the board. Not "the system is down" or "out of credits". Subway station or centro de atención only. Granted, I have been in the country for less than 3 months, so maybe I am being too paranoid about something that's business as usual for those in the know. Just wanted to make sure it's not some weird government thing making my DNI-less life even harder

You can also just pay with a normal visa or mastercard on the readers, in the bus too
