Any card from Argentina or foreign countries will work fine. Make sure to use it on the Subte gates that show credit card/QR payments. The other half of the Subte gates only work with Sube cards

If you have MercadoPago on your smartphone you can load the Sube card directly from it. I have it on my iPad too. On MP Look for the link that says “Cargar Trasporte”. You have to type the number on the Sube card. Then MP keeps it on file.

Does that work for you? Or do you also have to go to a subte machine and tap the card so it forces the balance update?

It works great. I use the bus lines more often than the subte. Different bus lines stop at the corner of the building where I live going both ways so it’s very convenient. You have to tell the bus driver to “activar la carga”.

Thanks for that tip. I didn't know the bus drivers can do that. I always thought you had to go to certain tap machines to do it.
