The fastest I've ever gotten my DNI

I found the fastest way we to go to the civil registry in my city and order the DNI and pay the urgency fee. With that it arrived in 10 days, but I think of you are in BA you can go to the office and get it same day or next day

Do you have permanent residency?

As far as I know, the only foriegners who can "order" a DNI at the Registro in their city (or the Registro in the comuna in which they reside in a large city like CABA) must already have permanent residency. I believe the individuals who have been posting about waiting to recieve their "new" DNI to arrive have recently renewed thier temporary residency or have just been granted permanent residency at the office of migraciones...

...and, as far as I know, unless they change thier domicilio, permanent residents shouldn't have to order a new DNI for fifteen years.

No. Temporary.
But whenever I renewed it could take up to 5-6 months for the new one to arrive, even after following up multiple times. But the last time, the person at immigration said to give it a few weeks and come back if I didn't receive it. I waited, didn't show up. I went to the civil registry, they followed up, and didn't show up in timeframe the supervisor said. Went back and paid for the urgencia service. Received it in 10-14 days.

I Don't think you need to be permanent resident. Anyone getting a DNI should be fine.
