The Minister of Security got assaulted by the protestors

Security Minister injured, humiliated, submitted, and rescued by CABA police. He claims it was a conspiracy ambush. Strategic security planning failed.
Berni La saco barata..!

If you can’t address the issue without admitting your own faults and shortcomings, make a conspiracy theory out of it!

What’s more is that some disgusting little goblin is now trying to gas-light the public into questioning if this crime was even a robbery turned murder.

“This does not look like a robbery of a bus. In a bus, at that hour of the morning, you are not going to find enough loot to be worth the effort. It looked like a robbery of an armored vehicle, but they took a backpack. It is very strange and that is where all the issues begin, because I have to say it: a couple of days before, Patricia Bullrich had been talking about the safety of the buses…. but hey.”

An unprovoked petty robbery-gone-wrong ending up with a murder in La Matanza is “practically unprecedented” according to Kiciloff.

I read a similar article this evening; you have to be a real major league asshole like Kiciloff to say shit like this. They're going to lose the presidency and wonder why/blame everyone but themselves when it's shit like this right here.

La Matanza is everything wrong with Provincia. People like Berni, Fernando Espinoza, and Kiciloff would have to resign if this were a just world (or be voted out) for permitting people to suffer through the living conditions people there face. Out of control robberies, shootouts that kills bystanders like the bus driver, 150 villas within the city limits, 50% average poverty rate, and police stations, trucks, and mobile monitoring centers that are left abandoned or unstaffed.

People see and experience this, and then when they finally snap, the only response from Berni, Kiciloff, and Co is that it's all "PRO agitators" apparently responding to a Patricia Bullrich orchestrated shootout in La Matanza, because as we all know, people wouldn't be pissed if their co-workers/friends were murdered, and La Matanza is known for it's tranquility, not literally being a slaughterhouse.

“Practically unprecedented”.
Practically speaking, one may question the risk/benefit ratio of robbing a colectivo with one passenger for a booty of a cheap ? cell and 200 pesos. Less risky to rob a schoolgirl for the cell?

Or its a conspiracy to embarrass Kicillof/Berni ?

PD: INMMO, all these thefts are perpetrated to buy drugs /merca/pills/pasta base/etc. Not to buy diapers or powdered milk?

These thefts are also a symptom of desperation - when someone robs a kiosko in La Matanza for ARS$30k and kills the owner in the process, or kills a rappi in Palermo for a ARS$20k made in tierra-del-fuego mobile phone, the thief at the time is probably more fixated on buying food for them or their family, paying debts or feeding addiction rather than a murder that transpires because someone gets jumpy and adrenaline is running high. When weapons are relatively easy to obtain and there exists whatever motive to rob whatever value is needed, it is a dangerous combination.

In Brazil people and gangs rob buses at the point of AK-47s to steal a few mobiles, casio watches and reais worth of cash on a very regular basis, our social problems that feed such events are in reality not that different and nor is this risk/ reward calculation made by the criminals.

This is absolutely crazy.
There are a lot of unanswered questions in my mind. Knowing that the drivers were angrier than shit, why did Berni show up with such a small escort? In that situation, I would have had a phalanx of cops in full riot gear, and been wearing at least a helmet with faceshield myself. Then again, when it comes to personal security, my philosophy is "better safe than sorry".

As far as outcome, Berni is probably going to be looking for an opportunity to kick some major ass, and prove that he isn't to be messed with. That could possibly provoke even greater problems. Historically, governments who resorted to mano dura haven't usually lasted long in Argentina

I understand Berni wasn't in his own jurisdiction (PBA), so he wouldn't be able to bring a police escort into CABA with him. And, he claims at least, he had reached an agreement with the demonstrators to talk, before the heavies from CABA showed up and laid into the demonstrators.

I don't go for conspiracy theories, but it all seems a bit strange: if the CABA police really wanted to impose order, why didn't they fire a few shots in the air, rather than let Berni get glassed and stoned (and have 8 of their own injured as well)? Not that I expect a lot from the "Policía de la Ciudad", they're about as useful as the ornamental flowerpots on the streets here  but still...

Since we can throw conspiracy theories around wildly now thanks to Kicillof, what if this was a ploy to make him look like a victim and change the conversation? He knew what would happen, but this moves things away from "inseguridad sin freno" to "Our poor, innocent Berni is the victim of a heinous crime in CABA, see, even in "opulent Buenos Aires" the Minister of Insecurity isn't safe!"

I believe there is a legal fusion task force in the conurbano that lets the PFA, City Police, and Provincial Police share jurisdiction for active crimes, but not preventative measures which is why he couldn't bring his minions with him.

I honestly bet they were fine with seeing him getting the shit kicked out of him, waiting to step in until he was literally backed up against a wall. He's always shitting on CABA and indirectly on the police here by contrasting BA vs Provincia so they were likely more than happy to slow roll the response.
