I recently looked at a bag of popcorn in the supermarket.

It was labeled "pisingallo."

It sounds like a word that could be used to tell someone to do something nasty to a rooster (as opposed to "up a rope").

Hahaha. I'm quite sure it said pochoclo. I saw him make a fresh batch but I had already purchased ridiculously overpriced Lay's. I did see the man using too many rare ingredients while making his pochoclo though.
