I am trying to make some homemade margaritas this weekend, and apparently I need triple sec - anyone know where I can find it in BsAs? I checked two supermercados, but I couldn't find any.

Thanks.

Cointreau and Grand Marinier are available in every coto & disco I've ever been in, not sure about carrefour.

Cointreau is widely available and works just as well if not better.

Not sure where you're located, but there are some traditional liquor stores here and there. I know of one on the corner of Callao and Guido (if its not Guido, then one block over on Vicente Lopez). It's pretty big and has great variety.

I don't know if they import Dekyper anymore but that was the best I've found(for Long Island Iced Teas). I thought the quality of some of the Triple Secs were awfully poor. I would go to a liquor specialty shop for that. Mark IV

The responses to your question are similar to you asking if anyone knew where to get a 1995 Ford Escort and they are letting you know where you can pick up a new Mercedes, BMW, or Audi.

"Triple Sec" = CRAPPY Orange Liqueur w/ ~15%-20% Alc and TONS of sugar.

Cointreau & Grand Marnier = 40% Alc (80 proof) fine liqueurs.

I personally would NEVER use Triple Sec, but then again, I'm reeeee cheto.

If you really want some crap orange liqueur, you can probably find it in a big grocery store, JUMBO, and some chinos with lots of low end alcohol. Triple Sec is going to be much sweeter than the good stuff, so if your recipe is depending on that extra sugar kick, going with gutter liquor might be what you want to do.

Just juice a few oranges and boil it up with a bit of sugar, then use more tequila. Actually makes a lighter, zippier margarita.
