this place is crazy- the club itself is like out of a 60s james bond movie, the crowd is people you will never see during the daytime, and the music is great. it is a club to dance, not to pickup, or profile, or pretend you are important. just serious dancing.

The bigger clubs (Bahrein, Crobar, Mandarine, State) are not purely undergound and often go a bit more towards mainstream, there was one really good underground minimal club (cocoliche) her in B.A., but you are about 2 years too late

another place to start would be CC Matienzo.
3 bars, free admission to the building, you only pay to see music.
dozens of different bands and DJs play there every month.
all kinds of music.
And there will be handbills for lots of other events by the door, you can find out about all kinds of stuff that is very underground.
