is your contract up from at&t? if so you should be able to call and tell them that you're traveling overseas and ask them to unlock it for you.

I unlocked an AT&T 3GS for about 3 bucks if I remember correctly. Done via eBay. Just check that he has good reputation.

I was pretty sure the iPhone 4 couldn't be unlocked if the baseband was 4.10.1 or above. Unfortunately for me, that was the baseband on my phone when I bought it. Do you use a sim interposer (Gevey)?
