Unlocked iPhones.

I finally bought an iPhone to use in Argentina. I actually bought it on Ebay factory unlocked and put a Movistar simcard in it and I can make calls, receive messages, but I can't send messages. It just says "not delivered". Has anyone else experienced this? Any computer techs know how this can be resolved. It's an iPhone 3gs with iOS 6 software. Thanks!

Both. Actually, this sounds ludicrous but I don't know the difference. I just want to send a normal text message that doesn't require internet access.

you know it may just be the tricky way to send messages here...like using 11 as opposed to 15 when putting in the mobile number!

Yes check your area and country codes. Make sure you have +54 not +549

I have some cell number listed as 11- number, and others 15-number, without the 9. I called Movistar and they did something over thep phone and a message was sent. I hung up the phone and then I tried and it didn't work anymore. Very strange.

Thank you for your help. I tried the link you suggested and installed it on my iPhone 3 but I stiall can't send messages. I have no idea, the iPhone came factory unlocked.

Try sending txt messages in another phone to confirm the Sim card is working. It could be the message gateway has the wrong settings. Take it to movistar and try to get someone to look at it
