just today one friend ( female) reported being mugged at 6 pm in Montevideo.

February and March are the best time of the year still a crowd but smaller and prices start going down.

MVD was really a mess. I was never bothered but something was always going down relating to crime. Which makes wonder what are they going to do about it because Uruguay heavily depends on tourism and tourists like security.
