Visa For Brazil

I applied for the visa one year ago at Christmastime. Age works to your advantage - I am not young. I did not have to jump all the hurdles with them. They were very kind to me but the same person gave people in front of me and after me a different treatment so i suggest to be prepared. First the appointment needs to be done on computer with the application filled out there. I had not done any of it in advance. I was assisted. The bank statement - I showed a couple of credit cards which was sufficient; I was told to go to a travel agent to obtain reservations and flight and return with that data same day. I was processed. Left my passport for pick up the following day.

Be prepared. Have your homework done. Bring all that is required. You might not have to have the actual tickets but have a reservation from an agent to show all is completed.

Another thought is to get a bus ticket as they are refundable then return to the bus station for a refund.

Paraguay is much easier.

Hope this helps you. any other questions then PM me.

My personal experience was that the Brazilian office in Argentina was difficult to work with. If by chance a person has
an opportunity to deal with the tiny Brazilian consulate on the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls, they were much
faster and more user friendly.

A side note about visiting Brazil: the last I heard, a foreigner is not allowed to receive money by Western Union in
Brazil, so take enough credit cards because I don´t know if friends from abroad can help you out.
