Hi everyone,

I created a website (hostgator/wordpress) but am finding myself stuck with some of the designing aspects and am burning out with the online research/tutorials. I would love for someone to spend a couple of hours with me to help polish it up (suggest a good theme, plugins, widgets, etc). Any freelancers out there who might be interested? Send me a PM with pricing.

Thx!
Meri

best thing to do is to find a couple of sites you really like and go to odesk or somewhere and hire someone to copy the css for you.

Its even simpler than that. Buy a theme, download it, install it using the backend provided by Wordpress. Its a three click process.

Meri,

I'm a software developer and do some web related work (both front and backend), if all you want is a theme installed then instead of going through oDesk, or elance just pick one here: http://themeforest.n...egory/wordpress, buy it and install it. Because that's what folks at those sites are going to do, and charge you for it. If you really need help picking things out and discussing the project more in detail then send me a PM and we can talk about it more. You can also check this link out at hostgator which shows you a different way of browsing for themes and installing them: http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-install-a-wordpress-theme

Thanks everyone! I've actually been playing around with a lot of free wordpress themes and while they're super easy to install, I'm getting stuck on the design (like changing the font even though I installed a couple of font customizer plug ins, getting widgets to look right etc). Thank you for the ideas and the links above - I'll check them out. I'll possibly also PM you when I have more detailed questions.
