Western Union money transfer

WU has been slow at times to follow CCL rate increase but quick to drop their rate when CCL drops. I've been using them without issue for years and appreciate the convenience of their locations, I consider their fee a cost of doing business.

My Western Union transfers in January and March 2024 were deposited into my bank account in one day. The April transfer was completed after the weekend. But the most recent one on May 17 didn't get deposited until today, a week later.

Well, at least that's what the email from WU stated. I just checked my local account, and the money has not been deposited yet. This is the first time I have had a delay this long.

This promo code may give a 15 USD discount US => AR, at least it showed the discount for the US, but did not work for EUR regions:

L2654

I was playing around and found that different EUR countries have different fees. For example from Austria it costs 17.90 EUR to send 300 EUR (https://www.westernunion.com/at/en/web/send-money/start?CampaignId=''&ReceiveCountry=AR&SendAmount=300&ISOCurrency=USD), whereas from Belgium its only 7.90 (https://www.westernunion.com/be/en/web/send-money/start?CampaignId=''&ReceiveCountry=AR&SendAmount=300&ISOCurrency=USD). Is it possible that a person from Austria can send EUR using the Belgium page? Can a person register with Western Union while it's not it home country?

I tried using that discount code, and it looked good until I got to the confirmation page. At that point, it stopped responding, and when I refreshed the page it gave me some cryptic error code. The history page now shows nothing since my last completed transaction.

For the past two months (including today), I have "automatically" recieved a $10.00 discount on the previously charged transfer fee for every amount I have entered to transfer (from $200 to $800 USD), without having to enter a promo code.

Well, congratulations, Steve. I'm very happy for you.
