Western Union money transfer

I've done 4 USA bank to Arg Bank transfers with Western Union in the last 3 months and they all took 8 days, that is why I tried the debit card option, which failed to complete. I guess we're stuck with the 8 day transfer, just means I have to plan my expenses more closely. Since the ARG peso has been kind of stable lately and the rate has not been changing drastically, it's not so critical with trying to time transfers as you need them to get the best rate.

I was able to use my debit card with Remitly.com and it was almost an instant transfer of funds, but the rate was not as good as WU, however, it's good to know I have an option if I need funds quicker in a pinch.

Moneygram from a USA debit card to a VirtualWallet CVU (example to MercadoPago or a Uala prepaid debit card) always gives a better rate than WU when you consider the fee. A good option when a lower amount is still helpful. MG to argentina bank will be a worse rate than WU.

No problem at all. I used it and my brother used it too doing bank to bank transfers today.

Are transfers still taking 8 days, as some have reported recently? Today when I was setting up a transfer, the transfer time changed from 0- 4 days to 0- 8 days. Normally it's 1 to 3 days for me but it's been a month or two since I've transferred via WU.

Lately it has been taking 2 days. But you never know.

During the past five years I have made well over 100 WU transfers from Schwab to Santander Rio. With one exception, the funds were credited to my Santander Rio account the same day that I made the transfer. The exception was credited on the following day.

Today's transfer was the first in well over two years to be credited to my Santander account after 6 pm, but only by about ten minutes.

PS: I used my Charlas Schwab debit card to make all of the transfers.

Just did a WU transfer for cash pickup. I had not done to my arg bank or peso pickup in months, so maybe that is why I was given $0 fee without a previous email telling me about a promotion. Plus it was instantly available from US bank ACH transfer (not debit card). 1USD = 1231

I made a bank to bank transfer this morning at 9:26 using the debit card. The funds were credited to my Santander Rio account almost exactly eight hours later.

As a warning to folks, PagoFacil app is convenient for receiving WU transfers because it's instant and 24/7, but it's been down since Sunday, and still glitchy today.
