Western Union money transfer

i tried western union again, and my transfer went through no problem! maybe the web site was swamped when i tried my attempt this morning that kept failing...sorry for the false alarm....
FYI, Argentine citizens receiving a WU transfer directly to their bank have to file a declacion jurada via WU Argentina indicating the nature of their receipts for ARCA. They are allowed 3 incoming transfers before WU blocks them pending the declaracion approval. Americans sending themselves transfers via WU USA don't need to file a declaracion because WU USA considers them basically tourists and since the money is outbound from the US, there are no reporting requirements to the IRS. WU may have temporarily failed to identify you as an American.

FYI: I did not try to make a Western Union transfer today.

I wrote that I could not make the transfer from my US bank account because I did not recieve the October SSA payment.

I have been recieving SSA payments since 2012 and I have been making Western Union transfers from my US bank account to my Argentine bank account since late 2019.

I filed the declaracion jurada with Western Union in late 2019. They have not since asked for anything else. I never provided any information to Banco Santander Rio about the "source" of the funds which I have transfered to my account by Western Union...

...and they have never asked.

PS: I'm a US citizen.

I have not yet made the transfer, even though the rate was still $1,561 every time I checked it this morning.

I did not make the transfer because I have not yet recieved the October SSA payment, which "should" have been deposited early this morning.

The current government "shut down" should not have affected the payment schedule.
Transfered at 8:30 am. without problems, the rate was still $1561.30 ars per dollar.

To clarify, I did provide Banco Santander Rio a benefits letter from the SSA when I opened the account in 2012. I was then using XOOM to make the transfers. I started making the transfers by Western Union in 2019 and Banco Santander has never asked about them. If the bank can see the same transfer details as the receipt Western Union sends to me, then they know that I am sending the funds to myself.

Even though the Western Union reciept only identifies me as the sender, and does not include the words "Social Security" there is no reason for the transfers to raise any red flags. Even though the dollar amount of my monthly SSA has increased from about $420 to $600USD since I opened the account, that's well below the piso de ganancias.

Hello, yesterday I used WU for the first time in over a year to take advantage of the out-of-date rate (still 1550 while everywhere else was 1450). I sent it to my pagofacil wallet, so it should arrive instantly, but it still hasn't - has this happened to anyone before?

... Anyway, I found that there are much more ways to send money for a good rate, besides Wise and WU, i.e. Remitly, Instarem etc. Would be interesting your experiences, which services are you using regularly, besides Wise and WU?
As my Pago Facil account is still blocked I had to look out for alternative services, tl;dr for me the rates are not as good as sending WU to PagoFacil.

found that xoom.com has a good exchange rate and if you get one of the remitly promo rates (sometimes it's limited to certain amount) then the exchange (currently 1:1465,70) rate is as good as WU (currently 1:1465,00). The promo (https://remit.ly/o17rgv80) may give you up to 30 USD discount (send 50 USD pay 25), but then a worse exchange rate (currently 1:1424), still good for sending a small amount. I also tried moneygram, they have a similar rate as remitly, giving you a good rate for the first 1000 USD (1:1488 instad of 1:1418).

Are you using other services?

I can't make sense out of your statement here. Pago Facil is not Western Union. You can do a Western Union transfer to a Western Union branch, and extract cash. These branches often also are Pago Facil branches. They can offer to load some of your Western Union cash into the Pago Facil network where you can use it's app to make purchases. They can use Pago Facil to send your funds to Mercado Pago for example. But in reality none of this is direct. The are simply taking the cash from your Western Union transfer and immediately "depositing" it as cash received from you into your Pago Facil account. Regardless of your Pago Facil account being blocked you can still receive cash from Western Union, unless you mean to say that your Western Union account is blocked.

Western Union owns Pago Facil.

I made a Western Union transfer late yesterday morning after I saw that the rate was back to $1482. When I initiated the transfer, the ETA was 0 to 4 business days, but I knew it was already too late for the funds to be credited to my Santander Rio account rhe same day.

When I recieved the reciept I saw that the funds would be credited to my Santander Rio account by the 27th of November. Then I saw a second email from Western Union in my inbox. It was a request for an updated declaracion jurada, which I then completed and sent. As soon as I hit the send button I recieved a notice that if there was already a transfer in progress rhat it should be credited to my account within three business days.

At the end of the message was the Pago Facil number to call for additional assistance:

O810-444-1000
