What are the residency/visa options for the permanent tourist who wants to be able to exit/re-enter freely?

So if I continue doing my visa runs, is it advisable to try and add some official 90 day extensions to the mix? Or should I just stick to leaving every 3 month?

Every time you cross the border, there's a (small) chance of being denied entry. Every time you visit the migraciones, they might give you a deadline to leave.

Visa runs do not improve your situation in any way. This is a form of self-soothing. You need to realize that you're not a tourist, and you probably shouldn't subject yourself to unnecessary risks. But whatever makes you fill better

With appointment. I just checked and the DS-11 appointments are around a week or a week and a half out, versus a month for the DS-82 ones.

What did you do for the shipping of the passport? Did you simply have it mailed to your address here? Did you expedite it?

I went by DHL after my appointment to get a waybill, emailed a scan to the embassy and they're going to send it to my address here, as soon as it arrives.
