What to bring from France to make a profit?

True that Mercadolibre is for bargain hunters.

Reading the answers, I avoided a big mistake. Even an iPhone 4S is not really worth the trouble.

That will be a Macbook Air i5 with a 13" screen, still under warranty (there are not that many for sale on ML, it seems there's a demand, etc.). It won't have the Spanish keyboard though.

I looked at the new Macbook Pro Retina and it's worth like 2.250 EUR (not worth the trouble neither = would make almost the same profit as for an Air i5 13" while spending much less).

I'll use a new ML username but it's not the first time I sell on ML. Usually mentioning the fact you're a foreigner helps (and my accent is indeed very French).

Quite tricky in fact to find something to sell here.

Likely, as it has been mentioned here, the right thing to do is to sell something that just appeared on the market in the US or in Europe and not here. Otherwise it's too difficult.

Anyway, thanks (again) for the clever answers

Do not know much about resale, too much trouble for this Gomer. I bring stuff for friends. The latest and greatest request I have been getting is for these small WIFI security cameras. Get to watch and record people stealing your stuff. May be a market for that kind of stuff. Plus, the way the dollar is here, getting reimbursed in dollars has become a real pain for my friends. Not an easy thing getting dollars for the average Argentine anymore. Bring lots of good food for yourelf and enjoy. Freeze the cheese and pack in insulated bag.

Tell him to bring a good French restaurant. ;)

Sports shoes are expensive here, but of course you have to worry about style and size, so may be pretty hit or miss. :p Same for name brand / designer jeans or other clothes. I often see people in Miami buying athletic shoes by the bag full at outlet stores.

A good quality camera might sell as well, not sure. Some of my Argentine family members were trying to buy my cousin's camera when she came to visit. Even if it's used it may sell if it's a high quality camera. :D

Hope your friend enjoys his stay here. :)

I like very much Roberto Rossi's paintings. He's very much undervalued.
Art was so cheap back in 2003, that was incredible.

Even 6 years ago, it was possible to buy nearly 100 paintings from Galeria Van Riel for 3.000 pesos :p

It's possible to find "treasures" in Buenos Aires, but it takes time
