Where do American expats live in Argentina?

Nobody has caught on yet...a lot of the new residential towers being built are half empty. But once they are all occupied, the reality will set in that street parking will be virtually impossible. Private rentals of their house garages will also be a new revenue for jubilados.

I came to Buenos Aires feeling anonymous, knowing it was a huge city. But I go to several meetups and see the same people there. Imagine my surprise when asked where I was staying, after describing my apartment in a part of town, the Argentinian who had asked knew my landlords. Somehow I am utterly and totally predictable-and I'm not living in Palermo. This is like during the pandemic, when I thought I had the original idea to make sourdough bread, and a year in discovered half the country was doing it. I don't know where the other 29,980 Americans in Buenos Aires are, but I'll be seeing the rest of you this afternoon at Velvet.

I saw an article that said that 60,000 American expats live in Argentina, and that half of them live in Buenos Aires. Do they concentrate in a specific area of the city? Also, where are they living beyond Buenos Aires?

I live in La Ciudad, Belgrano specifically. In 25 years I've never encountered another unitedstatesian. My guess is most live in Barrio Norte and any of the many Palermos.

I read that 36% of Argentines live in the BA metro area, so it doesn’t seem too big of a delta that half of the US expats live there. Especially since, in my unscientific poll of Norte Americanos, they know but one city in Argentina (two if they’re Malbec lovers).
I live back in the woods you see, my woman, and the kid and dogs and me, in the Calamuchita valley. Rated in the top ten places to survive WW3, country folks can survive!
