If you've sold a property in Capital, who did you list with (or did you sell it on your own?) and what was your experience? Thanks!

I bought my apartment in Recoleta through a small Argentine office in 2006 and listed it with the same office in 2009. They never presented any offers and and after four months I listed with Perry. I never met him prior to the day I signed the listing. Working within the ReMax system he presented an offer in less than 60 days. He did he same with my next apartment and he also helped me buy my present home (another ReMax listing). Working with him (he did the work) was a great experience.

I have good friends who have done business with three agencies in the Capital Federal. My friends highly recommend all three.

Remax.

I looked at apartments with Remax (Not withperry Perry, mainly because I did not know who he was at the time). I found the agency very professional even though I did not buy at the time.

Wow, that's awesome glasgowjohn! Yet another option to consider. Since we are not in a hurry to sell, we have considered trying to sell it on our own. Anyone else who has done this and through what media? Why or why not would you recommend selling "by owner?" Whether or not this is through the newspaper, zonaprop, argenprop, solo dueños, what have you...was anyone concerned about safety issues with this? Of course when I tell Argentines about selling it on our own they say "oh but what about the seguridad?" So I'm wondering if anyone took any kind of precautions? Someone even suggested meeting with the interested party to have a coffee beforehand. :) I don't think we would go to those lengths, and honestly neither my husband nor I feel worried about that, but I also don't want to be naive.

Toselli & Fuentes http://www.tosellifuentes.com/
Theyre big in certain areas like Almagro, Caballito & Villa Crespo. The house was fairly valued and sold after 4 weekends of open house viewings. Our neighbours on the street priced their's extortionately, posted horrible pictures of a dirty pool and dirty dishes in the sink..and guess what, it's still on the market 10 months later wiht a 3rd agent so chosing your agent well really does count.

Re security - I really am no expert on this BUT what surprised me was that many real estate agents typically do not post pictures of the facade of your house OR your exact address when posting your property on the web. Our house was so lovely we thought this was a disadvantage until Toselli explained that this is a safety precaution...

Good luck with the sale. The whole business of carrying the money out of the bank and spiriting it away was just another hilarious chapter in our Bsas experience..after the fact I may add!

Right, we definitely wouldn't put detailed address info nor would we put pictures of the facade but only because unfortunately, it's not in our favor! :(
