Why Argentines Do Not Have Bad Taste In Food

Breweries from many countries use the imported Hallertau hops from Germany. It must be really good ;)
This summer I noticed that they were growing a lot of hops in the area around El Bolsón (I think it was south of the town but I am not positive). So maybe that is in response to the problems they were having before ...

Here's hoping they make some decent beer out of it then!

I like the Quilmes Stout. Now you can fire me.
I don't like the plain Quilmes, nor the Schneider, which is also very popular. I still have to try all the others.

Schneider is as bad as Brahma. I'm sure when i first arrived Bierkert (sp) used to have a stronger taste to it. It might have been imagining it though.

I will accept recommendations on beer. So far, I don't appreciate the local red wines (they are all very strong, good for meats only), and I still have to try the white ones.
But I hope you will accept my humble apology... I usually drink plain water sin gas, another exotic drink on these mesas. :D

In a pinch, there are other things than hops which can be used, grout (or gruit in German) was the term used to describe a mixture of herbs and spices, back in the days before they used hops for making beer.

OTRO MUNDO RED the best of the artisan beers for me but is now quite expensive at about 35 for a 50cl bottle

The other day I went to local BevMo and it had sale ongoing for the Vino Argentino. Happened to pick up Mendoza's Malvec KSANA
oh what a suave wine ! I regretted not have picked up no more than 4 bottles. Went back to hoard that wine but no more!
Beeing invited to a friend's wine comparo B'bQ' party, each person had to bring at least a bottle of their favourite so I took that
KSANA. Once my round came to present that wine, guests were saying could not believe how good that Argie wine was..Many accolades abound! So Mendoza produce some respectable wines !
