Hank all you need to do to get access to the internet, news, maps, etc when your outside your home is to use your phone data which works like wifi.

Your Claro sim card - as long as it's activate - should give you internet access.

If you go to a Claro store they should be able to help you and make sure that your internet access is working properly.

Hi Hank, for internet data service when you are outside on the street, on your phone tap

Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data

Here you should make sure Claro with your Argentinian Number is selected.

Now you will have mobile data when you are not connected to a WiFi. You can still try connect to a Public Wifi if you still want to.

If this is already on, you have enough data credit but Google Maps is still not working without WiFi, go to Settings -> Cellular and scroll down to Google Maps and check if you have allowed the google maps app to use Cellular Data for Claro.

(When you're back in the US, just visit the first menu above and select Verizon)

Google maps can be downloaded for a particular region. The entire area of BA is no problem. Just do the download at home.
