I had a hard time figuring this out when I first moved here, too. Just go to this page (on the Correo Argentino website) and follow the steps to get your postal code:

Ok, but you don't need the whole number. You just us the four numbers after the first letter. The first letter is the province.

Yes, it´s enough with the four numbers, but says the legend that if you put the whole CPA the letter will arrive faster.

There is a book in the post office that looks like a telephone book that will give you the postal code of any address in Buenos Aires. Well, there is one at the Montevideo/Las Heras branch.
