How much more are you paying for your health (prepaga) insurance?

2 people for $800 is not more expensive than the US.
Depends on what you are comparing to. If you have a low (or no) salary and are buying insurance in the health care market (Aka Obamacare) you can get plans for less than that due to the subsidies. I’m actually looking into that for my wife and I right now.

But then again no plan in the US will pay for cosmetic surgery, as some plans in Argentina do.

Wow, that’s more expensive than in the US
I do not think it is more expensive than the USA but keep in mind the following:

OSDE 450 is essentially a "Cadillac" plan; there are no extra costs other than the monthly payment, the most doctors accept the plan, and if you need to be hospitalized you get a private room at all the best private hospitals. Plastic surgery is included in the plan once every two years, teeth whitening is included once every two years, and it comes with very useful travel insurance at no additional cost.

Yeah, you can get cheaper plans in the US but not ones that cover so much

My Hospital Italiano payment to increase 9.85% for May. This will put me over $300,000p a month. I should note that Italiano offers two plans and I have the less expensive of the two. God knows what the other one costs now.

This is all very annoying and made worse by the uneven care I have experienced through their system. I requested an appointment to see a back specialist recently and was given a date of July 8. Unfortunately very long waits are typical. Sigh...

I'm healthy, not old, and was paying $850 per month for a decent (not great) healthcare plan in the US a few years ago. There were still other out of pocket fees if I actually wanted to use it. It didn't include dental either.

Argentina is still a much better value at these prices than US healthcare.

I tried to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist at Italiano the other day. Earliest appointment, October. Insane.

If you're having pain in your back or some other serious problem, Johnny, go to the guardia at Italiano. Several times when I've had problems that couldn't wait (heart, eye), I went to the guardia, and all of the waiting time disappeared. Another way is to go through your doctor de cabecera. I got several appointments more quickly that way.

Yep. Getting a dermo appointment has been nuts for a long time. I find I am increasingly having to go private for healthcare despite the increase in in my monthly payments to H. Italiano. Something not right about that.
