I had the same issue sending to another person's bank account in Argentina. Instead I just sent it to myself, picked up in the More MT here and paid the person in cash. this also allows you to take advantage of the higher Xoom rate vs. the official dollar-peso exchange rate.

We had issues transferring via Xoom to a third party here but it was much easier to transfer to myself, pick it up at the More Transfers Libertad branch and pay the third party.

If they are only paying Xoom rate what would be the advantage of them over just using Xoom? (not trying to be sarcastic - I really want to know if I'm missing something). Currently the dolar informal is at 5.9 and Xoom was paying 5.6 last I checked.

Couldn't you hypothetically take pesos to the US, exchange for dollars at the 4.4 rate, bring dollars back and exchange for the blue market rate of 5.9?
