Unlocking iPhones?

As long as it's a GSM phone (i.e. not a Verizon phone), it can be unlocked for use here. The local specialist in unlocking phones is a little office on the upper floor of the galleria Paseo Lavalle (835, between Suipacha and Esmeralda). They specialize in selling "used" cell phones.

A friend visiting from the US showed up with a locked phone that we took to a dozen shops around town, none of which could deal with it, although a few recommended this place. His wasn't a iPhone, but they charged next to nothing to do it.

I have an iPhone 3 16gb that is on the uk vodaphone network. Is it possible to unlock this to work here? What is the process? Thanks.

I have an AT&T phone and I had paid till the end of my contract so I just called up AT&T and they unlocked it for me. If you unlock via Jailbreak you won't be able to upgrade to any OS upgrades so best to just call AT&T if you paid your account.
