    Covid Vaccination Argentina

We were in the same position. We asked friends at a big Medical Center in the US, their advice was to ignore our Sputnik vaccination and get two full doses of Pfizer or AstraZeneca. Your question is not uncommon, there are many sources of information on mixing vaccines like this one that...

    Is Mendoza Nice?

Expats frequently carry thousands of dollars, pounds and/or electronics without incident. Like anything else you'd have to weigh the risk vs rewards. For example, in the wealth tax discussions there was consideration of treating a pension as a taxable asset to prevent wealthy people from...

    Understanding Argentine Thinking

You reminded of an incident years ago. Having dinner with a small group including my usually easy going mother-in-law in Miami Beach. After eating we sat chatting for awhile. Then the waitress came over to tidy up the table and my MIL went batshit crazy yelling at her. She later explained...

    Understanding Argentine Thinking

Twice I've seen 40ish women having loud fits because they got up and left (once a ferry seat, once a gym mat) unattended and when they returned someone else was using it. Despite many mats and seats being available nearby they got very upset and made a scene, demanding their exact seat/mat be...

Flight cancelled? Don't ask for your money back or you'll lose!

I had the same problem awhile back, began to take screen shots of the offerring and that was useful a couple of times. Same with hotel offerrings.

Perhaps you should ask for advice on what cities might be worth exploring during your time outside Argentina given your interests and finances and schedule.

    tax for foreigners

If you are only making the trip to Buenos Aires a few times each year, why limit yourself to Colonia? When transportation returns to normal there will be a wide variety of places a few hours away by ferry or plane.

US Embassy says Argentina under Level 4 Alert

The U.S. Department of State is not only responsible for travel advice but for the nation's foreign policy and international relations. They are tragically incompetent at both.

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

I got Pfizer. Second at end of May. I think booster should be Oct/Nov. Good thoughts. Thanks. If I get the booster in the US I'd get a US certificate which might be more useful for travelling in the future, maybe. Also, even though I'm in a priority group I waited months for the first...

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

Anybody thinking about going to the US for a booster shot? Our friends there are recommending that we (seniors) go but we're concerned about flights and US hospitals filling up.

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

On one of my cancelled flights the AA rep made it clear that her instructions were to treat any flight that appeared on her screen as real. She had no information about previous cancelled flights or government authorized flights. All she knows is that when AA cancels it, then it wont appear...

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

Go to Miami. If you see that a flight is leaving tonight, get on the waitlist, check your bags and stand near the gate attendant. You'll have a chance of leaving.

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

Clearly you wouldn't be able to book return until a seat is available on an approved flight. But how is that different from currently? Good point, by accepting reservations the airlines are engaging with passengers rather than leaving the market to Aerolinas. But, after having two of my...

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

They do have a choice, the airlines could only sell seats until 8/6. Most businesses don't sell products that they dont have. At least those passengers who get reservations on approved flights would know they are actually going to be travelling. And perhaps if passengers weren't distracted...
