I want to apply to IUNA to study film next February. I live in LA right now. I have no family in Argentina. When I apply for the student visa here at the Argentine embassy in LA, what are my chances of getting it? Do they give them to most everyone who legitimately applies? Or do they reject...

The embassy here in LA emailed me and told me once I'm accepted into an Argentine university, I can apply for a visa through the consulate. An Argentine woman I know here told me that some schools won't accept you unless you have a student visa, so it's kind of a catch-22. Does anyone know...

What is it, is it required to get any kind of work?

Once I get accepted into a university in Buenos Aires, I am going to apply for a (temporary, student?) visa. Is the visa interview (at the Argentine consulate in the US, LA if you know) difficult? What do they ask? Do most people get approved? Also, I'm kinda scared that this all won't get done...

Why are they "cheap"? Shouldn't they be free? Are you referring to the price of materials, like books, etc. ?? Or is there an actual tuition? At least for foreigners is there some sort of tuition?

IUNA should be free, even for foreign students...It's "Instituto Universario Nacional de Arte" , it says Nacional so you know it's funded by the government, which I believe makes it free tuition-wise for everybody, you just have to pay the materials. I'm trying to go here myself, but to study...

Why do people do that rather than just get a student visa (if they're studying)? Is it really that hard to get a student visa?
