Hiking in El Chalten and Torres del Paine

I disagree about the remaining parts of the park. I did the entire circuit in March and it was gorgeous. I only spent a day hiking through the affected areas from the wildfire earlier this year. Some photos from Torres del Paine/Fitz Roy...

    Patagonia Travelling

I was in El Calafate/El Chalten in March of this year. Be warned that both towns are very expensive. Make sure you have all of your gear already bought and try not to eat out a lot, if you're on a budget. El Chalten is in a great location for hiking. There are trails that start from the city.

Overstaying your visa in Argentina, makes it difficult to get US work visa?

Not sure if anyone was following this, but figured I'd update. She had no problem getting her US work visa.

Overstaying your visa in Argentina, makes it difficult to get US work visa?

My girlfriend has been living in Argentina for 2 years now, and had a DNI. It expired in March and she didn't want to pay to renew it for a whole year when she knew she was leaving soon. I know this wasn't the smartest thing to do. She got accepted for a summer internship in Washington D.C...

Yellow Fever Vaccination where best to go?

Yes, both times I've went (once with a friend) there was hardly any wait. It's kind of hard to find, I believe the entrance is actually on Av. Chile.

    Suggestions of San Telmo bars...

Some good suggestions. Gibraltar can get super crowded, that's why I usually go to a place like Breoghan's. I'll add Krakow, it's at Venezuela 474. Decent prices, good atmosphere.

    Thai restaurant in the centro

Phuket on Honduras isn't bad. Not sure how "authentic" it is, but it's tasty. Here's the menu (prices are a little higher than what they have printed): http://www.phuketwok.com.ar/descargas/menu-phuket-web.pdf

Dulce de Leche, mate and wine?!

Wine is pretty much the only thing left in Argentina that remains a bargain. At least for me, anyway.

    acne treatment in BsAs

I've bought similar antibiotics from the pharmacy without a prescription. Write the name out on a piece of paper and take it to them. You'll probably get it without any trouble.

Tourist killed in Plaza San Martin

Things are pretty bad for most people in Indonesia. I traveled through some very poor villages, but never felt like I was in danger of any kind. There's definitely a cultural element at play here.

How many of you want to leave Bs As?

I'm leaving on Sunday, after spending almost a year here in total. Finally getting down to Patagonia and then spending some time near Salta. Can't wait to see this part of Argentina. Leaving BsAs is bittersweet. Part of me can't wait to get out of this crazy place, but the other part will...

Tourist killed in Plaza San Martin

And this is why I never take my Canon DSLR out in this city. Really sad news.

    serious assault last night

If these idiots don't go to jail for what they did, especially considering the evidence, I'm going to be very upset.

Glad to hear he's going to be OK. Does anyone know how or why this even happened?

    Palermo vs Recoleta

Keep in mind that Palermo is huge, I think the biggest neighborhood in Capital Federal. I lived near Plaza Guemes and loved the area. It was safe and had none of the trendy stuff found a few blocks over in Soho. It felt like a neighborhood rather than a mall.

    serious assault last night

Looked at his profile, I don't think it's the same guy. I could be wrong though.
