2 tourists shot outside Faena Hotel P. Madero

I read that last Friday there was another British tourist held up, in Teodoro Garcia and Villanueva. A passing guy on a motorcycle chased the motochorro, hit him with his helmet, and knocked him off the bike. Bystanders then held him until the police arrived. He was Venezuelan - checking his phone and social web connections they found the rest of the gang.
Any connection to this gang at the hotel? Or was it another but separate team effort with a mastermind handling logistics?

Agree about knowing the Victims names before hand, ( But How would they know the Names to google them ??)

They booked the combi before they arrived to Argentina. I'd assume they booked it under a name with a destination. If someone within the transportation company was involved they'd have a list of the bookings. I'm just speculating. Maybe they could have just seen people that looked rich at the airport and followed them. It seems like their mistake was trying this in Puerto Madero which has more cameras than other parts of the city.

My point was it just seems that it was beyond luck that they happened to choose someone that was so wealthy.

How do you detect a GENUINE Rolex watch on the wrist of an arriving passenger? The gang must have had another way to pinpoint targets.

Precisely, and how close you need to get to someone to check out which watch they have on. Just following the tourists blindly to any location sounds risky too. That would imply there is no pre-planned get away. The rich looking tourist could just being going to AEP, which would waste hours of their time.

It's possible that police are seeding the press with bad information while they look into the transportation companies as not to spook the targets of their investigation.

Im not buying this story that they were picked off at the airport at Random because " They Looked Rich "
Its more likely someone that "Knew" what date and time they would be arriving and why they were in Buenos Aires in the First place, has hired this Crew to get the Computers, 6 Guys - 2 cars , 1 motorcycle, is not Random. ( the Gunman being driven alone in second car ) this is not a random hit.

This sounds like a great movie script and credible but is it unusual for the police to get on to the coordinator/ringleader so quickly if the gang were on contract for a specific job and were very smart? Because a motochorro member tries to hold up another tourist, randomly it appears, and is knocked over by a passing motorcyclist, and that provides key info on the whole gang. If it was so professional/organised one went rogue and just tried a street robbery and then spilled the beans? One of killers on the run and was then quickly identified as a bus fugitive by his own girlfriend. Either its a complicated police-involved conspiracy or a screw up by an organised gang who have done several of these? Great to see the outcome.

The saga continues.....

The police traced many calls to the gang's hideout in Ciudadela. While they were searching it, the murderer's girlfriend showed up to pick up her belongings. When questioned, she showed the Police a photo of her boyfriend, and said they had entered Argentina from Bolivia, through an illegal crossing point in Salta. The police figured they might try to leave the same way. So they canvassed all bus companies for any Venezuelans traveling to Salta, and located the bus the three guys were on. The bus was stopped, and the three guys were detained before escaping to Bolivia.

Amazing efficiency.....!

I take it the girlfriend didn't get any of the loot.

...but how do you know the individuals that got caught are the ring leaders ......?
