I received a promotional email from Gabarion this moning. They have a four day on line sale on a 47" LG LED Smart TV with 3D for $1200 pesos and 12 quotas 0f $999 without interest.

This is the second consecutive weekend they have offered ALL products with 12 quotas without interest after changing to six quotas without interest in February.

If anyone has an LED with 3D (or has at least seen one that has it) I would greatly appreciate your reading your opinion! I have never actually viewed one.

Gracias!

It's good for sports, right now there is no Arg carrier with a regular 3d service, no movies etc. You get one off stuff in 3d but as far as I know not a regular 3d service.

Might have changed in the last while, i bought a tv last year and ruled out 3d as i couldn't see the point with a limited offering.

I don't know if the price is good for a TV of this size/technology here in general (i.e., without considering the 3D technology), but personally I'd not weight 3D as too important. There are too few movies/TV programs where 3D actually is worth having and for the good movies, I prefer going to the cinema. So if its a good TV anyway and the price is right then I might consider it, but I wouldn't pay a premium just for having 3D technology that I rarely will use.

It´s all about the data input. What will you feed ypour TV?
Do you enjoy watching 3D blu rays?
Local HD TV is still in its infancy IMO, the cable providers do not share enough bandwith for decent viewing.

I would spend the money on either getting a larger screen or a better set than bother with 3d.
3d is ok, i`d recommend trying it before you buy. But personally i find it a gimmick. Until they come out with decent screens that dont need glasses i`m avoiding it.

I actually deal with this sort of stuff for work so here's my opinion:

3D TVs are nice, but not worth it unless you have the equipment to back it up.
In order to do this, as mentioned, no Argentine carriers offer 3D TV, though some
Smart TVs are capable of reconstructing 1080p signals in to semi-3D appearance,
though this is not native (think about what happens when 720p is blow up to 1080p).

You can only take advantage of this by using a 3D capable graphics card in a PC
and using an HDMI 1.4a or DisplayPort cable (direct only, no adapters) while playing
1080p video at at least 60hz I'd say, and even then, it's likely a passive 3D which means
it's like 3D movies, and the video of course has to be 3D.

Long story short, IMO go for a 4K TV instead.

Plasma or Led? I read there's a difference regarding the viewing angles.

If anyone can recommend a large model on Mercadolibre, thanks (like around 50")

Damn 4k tv's are stupidly expensive!

How can they justify?
