Advice on opening a cocktail bar

Ok so lets get this straight.......you are looking for someone to basically involve themselves with your business, a person who has all of the requirements to be able to legally get it up and running, such as Ingresos Brutos, DNI, a property to put as garantia, excellent taste, work ethic, legal residence, oh and don't forget these other things which you will need 1) A very very well versed person to take care of your habilitación (municipal operating licence), an SRL (LLC) to protect your assets, IVA, and on top of all that you want them to contribute $50K U$D??

Dorothy, you are not in Kansas anymore!!

Why would someone give you all of that and then contribute $50K U$D as well, what is the incentive, if anything you have to give them a share in your business just for contributing what you ask for plus pay something to the person who provides you with these indispensable items.

It is very difficult to start, and run a successful business here but it CAN be done, you just have to be realistic!

Good luck!

CLARIFICATIONS TO ORIGINAL POST
1. Restaurant is already open and operating (albeit badly and at not full potential) with all licenses, permits, certifications etc in place (validity of said documents are currently being treble checked, but on initial review everything appears to be in order, further due diligence is now being performed, in addition to things such as successor liability etc – by specialist local legal + specialist in municipal administrative procedures) this is NOT a new start up.

2. Investment money for local partner with credentials and experience is NOT required (but can be discussed if you so desire) however partner MUST be local Argentine and who for an agreed-on fee is willing to act as my nominee, this arrangement will be structured through an Argentine company (SRL in place) with probable additional side contracts. (Garantia is also NOT required)
Please don’t post public responses on this point 2, it is a strictly confidential and complex matter.

3. Thank you for the responses and the many emails, I shall respond over the weekend to those that I find of interest.

Cheers Paul

From what I've heard myself while being here I think being on the other side of the bar is DEFINITELY the best option :) I am keen (long term) to have a local business here - but its not something I will be rushing into - I have several ideas - but I will be researching very thoroughly first - and ''making haste slowly'' :)
