Apple Pie Recipe

Hi all.

I am trying to make an Apple Pie for my expat husband, but am running into a bit of an issue. He has no idea what recipe I should use.

He keeps saying "traditional" at me, but that is it. I have shown him several online apple pie recipes and he doesn't seem to be able to tell which type he is used to.

So I come to you all. He is from Arkansas, and I would like to bake him a home-made "traditional" style apple pie. Anyone have a recipe to share (with tips about how to make any replacements that might be needed to fit the available produce here in Argentina, I guess?)
