Are We Out Of Nutella?

I stopped buying Nutella after it started getting expensive here (in pesos)... also because I was getting fat. :p I don't miss it unless people talk about it... so a thread about a Nutella shortage is making me want to run out and buy it when I've so far resisted temptation!

Nutella Apocalypse!

Apparently it was a bad year in Turkey for hazelnut crops

[background=rgb(252, 247, 241)]Not to be the bearer of bad news, but. . .you guys. [/background]Nutella[background=rgb(252, 247, 241)]is in trouble. The luxuriously creamy chocolate-hazelnut spread we use to make bananas and toast taste infinitely better is now going to cost us at least twice as much because of a low hazelnut crop yield in Turkey. According to Mic, [/background]Turkey supplies about 70 percent[background=rgb(252, 247, 241)] of the entire world’s hazelnut inventory. Due to bad weather, Turkey’s hazelnut crops have not produced [/background]nearly[background=rgb(252, 247, 241)]enough to satisfy our universal [/background][background=rgb(252, 247, 241)]Nutella[/background][background=rgb(252, 247, 241)] obsession (each jar [/background]contains 50 hazelnuts[background=rgb(252, 247, 241)]!).[/background]

Thank you for understanding and sharing the reason there is a Nutella shortage. Cannot blame import restrictions for this.

If you're still looking I saw a lot of it on the shelf today at the Jumbo on Santa Fe.

Has anyone ever tried combining crunchy peanut butter and dulce de leche?

What would you get? What would you call it?
