Can any of you experts give me a comparison? What made you choose Argentina? Pros and cons of each place?

Basically,
  1. European environment at Sudaca/reduced prices
  2. Cultural life and social offerings
  3. Social life for singles
  4. Steak and wine at reduced prices
The above situation was up to 2023, now with the strong peso some of the advantages are gone

For a small town consider La Serena/ Chile

I've been to Chile 4 times now over the years and I've had several Chilean friends as well. Personally, I don't find any similarities in culture to Argentina (they don't even like each other). While people may think the two are like America / Canada, (which probably is more like Argentina / Uruguay), the two to me are more like America / England.

If culture isn't particularly important to you then I would recommend Chile, which I found a lot more commercially (and culturally) akin to the US.

Nobody can answer the pro/con for you without understanding your situation and priorities. If the answer is important to you, then please take some time to describe yourself.

You mean it it more expensive now? When it comes to unskilled wages, based on my research Argentina is still 1/3rd of the cost of Europe and 1/2 of Chile. I'm not sure about Uruguay.

Thanks. Well, I just want to raise my small children in peace in a rural setting.

Sounds reasonable, I have my small children down here as well. Is teaching your kids to read/write/speak English important to you? Bilingual schools are not common in the countryside.

No, it's not at all important. I currently live in Latin America. I can speak to my kids at home. Everyone speaks English nowadays anyway.
Are you rural or urban? Southern Argentina sounds ideal in terms of geography and climate. Chile too wet, Uruguay too flat.

Very Expensive now !. At the same cost of living of Spain, higher than Portugal, one must review all the previous local advantages.
Not clear if you're comparing wages or cost of living? Unskilled wages here are low. Have No bearing on expats cost of living.

Yes, I was just looking at unskilled wages which is just one component of COL.

That's unfortunate cause previously, I think Argentina had very cheap food, energy, etc. Though I think imported items like electronics and cars were always expensive. Do you think COL matching a place like Spain is temporary; that soon it will go back to what it was before?

I like the remote aspect of Argentina but Portugal could be nice. Heard it's flooded with tourist expats.

Unskilled wages apply for the COL of unskilled wage earners in the local economy. Expats depend mostly on foreign income .

Numbeo cost comparison Madrid/BA says that Life in Argentina is 21,8 % cheaper than Madrid. Their numbers are way outdated today Argentina is more expensive. See the Numbeo Cost comparison figures for reference only. Excludes rent.
