Looking around coffee shops and restaurants in Buenos Aires it seems that noone drinks water anymore and coke is drunk like water by all classes resulting in the obesity epidemic prevalent in the Capital Federal today .

It saddens me that coke is given to children by parents and the effects are noticeble with their accelerated behaviour . Coke has 100s of chemicals as well as very high caffeine content that causes anxiety and irrational behaviour.

Argentinians are very quick to say that their diet is better than the USA but I see people eating much worse here and junk food seems to be a status symbol .

Argentina is the coca cola capital of South America

COKE -- No wonder coke tastes soooo good:

In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries about 8 liters of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and... Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

To clean corrosion from car battery terminals. Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, Remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, And run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its Ph is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.

To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.

The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years.

Still Want To Drink Up ?????????

I actually am working at one of the Coca Cola warehouses in Buenos Aires.

I think regular soda consumption is awful though. It's difficult to find water to drink while I'm work and usually I have to sneak it in. And that really pisses me off.

But at least they put real sugar in the soda, instead of high fructose corn syrup. That stuff is the worst.

Firefighters and Paramedics clean up the blood and mess if needed.
They have the big trucks with lots of water in them and bags of absorbent sand.
The first tip it was a bogus story was “USA” and “Liters” in the same sentence.

The idea of cleaning anything with concentrated syrup sounds pretty dumb by itself. But it is pretty remarkable that they have used highly corrosive syrup for 20 years and did not get out of business. I guess their original trucks are still running :). So Coke has not been so bad for them after all.

The trucks container tanks are made of Stainless Steel, that's why they still running.....:p

It's true that vast amount of Coke is consumed in Argentina. What amazes me is seeing people drink it in the best restaurants where you'd expect to see more wine drinking.

I know I'm new to the forum, but I've been using message boards for 10 years. Why did you post this in the Newcomers forum?
