Just arrived at Ezeiza having last spent 2 weeks here in February and 1.5 years here 3 years ago. I’ve been banned from entry for 8 years and denied entry. Seems things have definitely changed as nothing was raised as an issue when I last exited Argentina. Was a long 17 hours flight here, going to be an even longer one home

This is definitely news. Did they state that it was specifically your 1.5 year overstay from three years ago that was to blame? Strange, as in February you had no problem. Looks like they're retroactively going over every entry/exit since inception to assess people now? That would knock most folks into dangerous territory. 8 years seems excessive, as every time I hear government speak on bans 5 years is the number they tout. Any further information you have would be helpful, though perhaps they didn't give you any. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.

that seems to be the case. Because of that 1.5 year stay. Well this has cost me thousands and I guess I’ll never be coming back

I don’t have any more information sadly and my return flight is soon

Even after you've demonstrated your abiding by the law by voluntarily leaving after staying only 2 weeks recently in Feb 2026?

Did you actually deal with more than one immigration official during the process of being denied entry? In other words, did a single official appear to be acting on their own, or was the denial of entry apparently a "collective" decision, which involved "higher" authorities?

Seemed to be just one and when I asked if there’s anything they could do they said they’ll call their manager. I did say that I came in February for just 2 weeks and there didnt seem to be any issue - certainly nothing was said when I exited the country that stint. I was only planning to come for 2 weeks again
