The first known Social Security System was founded by Bismark in Germany in the 1870s.In the US many people thought that Bismark had chosen 65 as the minimum retirement age there. So the US selected 65 as well.Bismarñ had acually chosen 70 as the minimum age.He himself was 74 at that moment. In Brazil ,almost incredibly, there ihas been no minimum age set until today when it is being debated in their congress. The basic requirement was 35 years of contributions for men,30 for women and that was about it.As a result you had a whole lot of people retiring at 50 amounting to a huge chunk of the gov't's primary deficit from 0.3% in 2007 to 2.3% projected for 2017. This can not go on or it's break the bank.
They are looking to set a minimum retirement age at 65.It's a must do.Let's hope they are successful. There is also talk that Temer might not complete his term.OMG Another impeachment? some are mentioning Cadoso or Meirelles.
