LOL, another example of the armed forces making up excuses for buying new toys, creating new commands and keeping/expanding human resources.

The politicos happy to oblige, tag along for the ride, make public satements and get fresh kodak moments.

When do we rise a Royal Alien Invasion from Outer Space Preparedness Task Force?
More likely to happen than any argie military aventure unless.... we refurbish all those subway wooden trains into larding crafts and stuff them with La Campora's rental sympathizers for a patriotic lebensraum expedition.

The article says "Around 1,500 troops are permanently based on the islands". On an island containing around 3,000 inhabitants. Is that true?? Fishermen and soldiers all stuck together on a little island. Must get a little rowdy in the pubs there on a Saturday night, no?

Sheep die young but consumed by a life of lust and debaucherie.

Give them back,to the Froggies.

Don't think Argentina would like that as the froggies would make them a territorial part of France and thus the EU like all their other overseas territories. Could be amusing though.

There goes the neighborhood, oil workers, military. Honky-Tonks on every corner, couple strip clubs here and there. K's knickers will really be in knot. What the heck did K expect by publishing an open letter antagonizing the Brits. How dumb is that? Have to wonder what their agenda is beside deflecting problems within. Seems to me they are itching for a fight.

As dumb as Cameron taking his time to answer her. Or to write the letter he tried to give her personally last year. Or to organise that farse of a referendum on the islands (as if it was going to change anything...).
Isn't the UK supposed to be 'more civilised' than Argentina? Where is the moral high-ground? They are playing exactly the same stupid game.

What surprises me is that the public in the UK is fooled with this nationalist rubbish exactly as in Argentina.
Cameron has lots of problems on his own, instead of addressing those he plays the nationalist card and spends billions to strengthen a Navy which should defend the last remains of a long-gone empire...the last remains of that decaying empire being the Malvinas/Falklands.
