I just made reservations to Colonia.

Cheapest one way ticket Buquebus $236AR.

Cheapest one way ticket Seacat $91AR.

The most expensive Seacat ticket is cheaper than the cheapest Buquebus ticket. They both leave from the same terminal and I've heard they are both on the same boat.

Just beware that sometimes Seacat crossings are on the huge Buquebus ships and sometimes they are on the very small (in comparison) Seacat vessels. We got unlucky last time and with rough choppy water the trip was absolutely miserable; I will never chance it again.

seacat and colonia express are usually much faster and certainly cheaper.
but if like surfing you can't handle the boat bouncing about a bit check the weather report before or go via buquebus.

I've only used buquebus once and whilst the old arcade machines were fun, i could do without the crap singers.

I used to regularly throw up on a sea crossing if the surface showed more movement than my bathwater. Then I discovered ginger. At first I would take a chunk of root ginger and gnaw on it as we sailed then gradually I used less and less until today I'm confident that a single ginger biscuit will do the trick: whether by herbal or homeopathic or the placebo effect, I don't care. It just works. It might not work for everybody but if you have motion sickness issues I'd recommend you give it a try.

I never got sick as I kept my eyes on the horizon. But trust me it was more than "bouncing about a bit". It was the bow rising out of the water and then slamming down hard with a bang --- again and again (as in every few seconds). Of course that slowed them down considerably making the trip much longer and consequently even more miserable.

Beware the location of colonia express at nighttime! its a tough area to hail a cab, and dont try walking to a nearest bus station. its dark and scary over in that side of town

They've always had tonnes of cabs coming whenever i've arrived. They seem to have a deal with a company who gets all their cabs to come asap.

what time did u arrive?? and what day of the week? I arrived at like 2am on a tuesday on a holiday

I took Seacat once, on the late boat back from Colonia... it was the most miserable hour of my life. I'm not prone to motion sickness at all, but even my stomach was dancing around in my throat. Passengers throwing up in their seats as the crew passed out extra barf bags, the boat tossing so much that no one could actually stand up or walk around (to give you an idea, the merchandise in the duty-free shop -- which they had to keep closed -- was flying off of the shelves and rolling around on the floor.) Unless you're dealing with totally placid waters, I think the size of the boat makes a HUGE difference in how much turbulence you feel. Ugh, I'm getting nauseated just remembering that trip...

go with buque bus! or u can take a sleeping pill one hour b4 going on that damn seacat or colonia boat
