Bus Lane Ruins 9 De Julio

And there are a lot of people who work in Argentina via computer for companies outside of Argentina. Not just expats, but Argentine citizens. So although I think the Netbooks were just a way to buy votes, I think that this policy is positively contributing to the future of this country. MUCH MORE than paying protesters to bang drums and shoot off fireworks in the microcenter. Or to block traffic on 9 de Julio or refuse to drive a Subte to two new stations.

They could do a lot more by not taxing the fuck out of technology coming into the country and creating a banking system that allowed for these workers to actually do these remote jobs and get the money locally.

Coming from the right-wing EEUU I want to love the left here, but this thing of refusing to drive the subte cars to two new stations because of "safety concerns" is un-effing-believable. It's exactly what the Republicans in the US are doing now: trying to make good initiatives fail because they were produced by the "enemy". Ugh.

Macri has his own program about netbooks for students, instead of plan igualdad, Macri call it plan Sarmiento.
Both are models that aren t in the market for sell.
However, i don t understand so much critics, they are improving the public educational system (not only with the netbooks).
When i was living in the US, my former girlfriend has big headeaches finding employeds (Americans) who know to give change. I thought it was a phrasal, but they didn t know how much money to give back if the client paid with 20 dollars and the nuts cost 17 (Upstate NY and Maryland).
However, this is an off topic, the thread was about the Metrobus.

Sadly it is very believable.

Housing loans? You are kidding me right...I don't know anyone that has ever obtained credit to buy a house here. In the majority of countries its much easier.

You are talking about Macri's loans for buying houses....and you might be right :). Critics assert that this promoted the real state bubble.

Plan Procrear is for Argentines with medium to low income. It is for building houses, not for buying houses already built.

The credits are assign by the lottery.
The loan market failed, that[s why the government replace the banks on that issue.

I agree.

I never got the 9 de julio thing anyway, its basically a motorway through the centre of the city that is a bitch to cross.

There should be more bus lanes through the whole city to make it quicker to get through.

Can't wait til 2015 when this is what the subway system is supposed to look like.

Buenos Aires Minister of Finance Néstor Grindetti has signed a 15-year loan agreement with China for US$1·4bn to fund metro Line G. Construction of the 12·5 km line with 15 stations between Retiro and El Cid Campeador by Chinese contractors is due to start in 2012.

I wonder how far along they are.

Compare it with what the Chileans have managed to accomplish in Santiago: http://tinyurl.com/b4x737r

I still marvel at how you can wander off track at will only to declare your own mistep off topic as soon as ohers start talking about it.
Follow my lead, but stay off my own steps.

Your best point was when you said its a lottery. Exactly right! This credit is available to so few its literally luck of the draw. Like winning the lottery.

There is no credit market in this country due to high inflation and instability and being locked out of international credit markets.

Only when Argentina has a stable economy (with lower inflation) and stable financial markets will the average middle class Argentine be able to access credit to purchase their own home. Its really sad.
