Calafate-Torres del Paine: Doubt about crossing the border

Hey everyone. My boyfriend and I are going to Patagonia later this month, but it's getting complicated because he needs to step out of the country (somewhere where they will stamp his passport) because his 3 months are up (and we already paid for the 3 month renewal once so that option is out).

Has anyone crossed over to Chile from Calafate to Torres del Paine? Does anyone know if they stamp your passport there?

As an alternative, does anyone know how much it costs to take a bus to Uruguay from Bs. As.? Is it cheaper than the buquebus?

Any ideas are welcome!

yes there are two crossings you can take, and both will stamp you passport.

sometimes there is a line becasue of the tour buses that work the area.
