It's unspeakably vegetarian, I'm afraid. It still tastes great - or dreadful - depending on your point of view. It's one of those products that people either love or hate.

I just joined this forum today - i've lived in BA since september (originally from Vancouver)

man, people here complain a lot.

Yes, the food situation can get annoying - it's difficult as all hell to eat healthy here. so hop a treadmill. it's not the end of the world.

BA has a rich, awesome culture, some of the friendliest people i've ever met, and an old world charm you don't see in north america anywhere.

SOME food here is on par with the best i've ever had (osaka, el baqueano)

but at the end of the day, suck it up. you knew you were moving to a 2nd world country - not everything is going to be the same. There just isn't the infrastructure here.

The friends i've made in Argentina will be friends for life.

It's when expats sit around bitching to each other that things get toxic. That's why i steer clear of palermo whenever possible. :)

It's dirty, it's hot, but the tree lined streets, the european facades, the hustle and bustle - people say BA is like south american paris but i find it way more like new york. It's just got that feel to it.

I'm not going to live in BA for the rest of my life by any means - i've grown accustomed to the aforementioned infrastructure and safety of Canada.

That being said, BA will have left a very serious mark on me, one i'm thankful for.

This city has taught me patience and compassion and spatial awareness (check for your wallet) but it's the mix, rather than the melancholy that makes life here interesting.

FYI:
1st world countries are developed for example the US, UK, Japan....
2nd world countries are Communist / Socialist the former Soviet Union, Communist China, Cuba, Vietnam.....
3rd world countries are developing countries.... Mexico....NZ...
4th world countries are countries that will never improve such as 2/3 of Africa and 1/2 of Latin America.
I think Argentina is a 3rd world country but some days I am not sure.

I'd say that use of "second world" is fairly archaic. The Cold War's over, no? :D

So Norway is a 2nd world country? NZ is a third world country?
 ..................and US is listed as your first developed country?
agree to seriously disagree

lol... common misconception.

(my dad said it, so that makes it right?)

you know what i mean.

Oh you`re here 5 months and you`re the expert? That`s like an 18yr old telling a 30yr old how to catch women...age breeds wisdom and empathy....the latter will make you a nice person as well as wiser. Newsflash..Bsas wasnt invented or discovered or even understood by someone whos still in the "passing through" stage..see similar posts on said topic. When you`ve been here 2+ yrs, been mugged, cheated, abused, maybe blackmailed and roughed up, lost 30% year on year on your purchasing power.let us know how its going eh?;)

i got mugged my first night out here. what does that have to do with anything?

I'd rather not stay if it means i'm going to become a jaded twat. bitching and moaning on the internet about something you absolutely have EVERY bit of control over is really quite pathetic. take control of your life.
