I'd agree with you, based on the photos of the crime scene.

That said, his appearance on A Dos Voces was on Wednesday, January 14. The email from Ronald Noble was sent on Friday (January 16) evening to the Argentine MOF. The Q&A with Página12 was published on Sunday (January 18), the morning of his death.

Given his own words, it must have been quite a blow to hear Noble completely reject his claims, and then, on Sunday, say that everything he was saying was a lie.

Yo no puedo determinar si firmados o no, pero acá hay acuerdos secretos entre ambos Estados y uno de ellos es que se bajaban las circulares rojas. ¿De qué manera se bajaban? En el punto séptimo del memorándum es el único punto operativo. ¿Qué significa operativo? Que se efectiviza antes que se apruebe, o sea bastaba la firma del acuerdo para que les sea efectivo. De hecho, ese punto se hizo efectivo el 23 de enero del 2013 y nada más pasó porque no se acordó. ¿Que decía ahí, se le hacía saber a Interpol que el conflicto -mire cómo se llama- conflicto entre la Argentina e Irán por el tema AMIA se iba a solucionar por (piensa), el término justo era “por común acuerdo por negociaciones comunes...por cooperación mutua entre ambos Estados”? Eso, en buen criollo, en lenguaje diplomático, se le está diciendo a Noble “señor, usted ya no tiene nada que ver en esto, él y yo nos pusimos de acuerdo”. Ya està. Bajelas. Se esperaba eso.

The 'funny' thing, which I think went rather unnoticed, is that the headline of that Pagina 12 article is a mistranslation. Kollmann sent Rafecas the original email in English, which the judge quoted in his decision. Kollmann writes "Lo que dice Nisman es falso" but Noble actually says something along the lines of "Those statements attributed to Nisman are false." The statements he was being asked about were allegations that Timerman asked Noble to suspend the red notices, which Noble reckoned were being attributed to Nisman.

I never read or heard Nisman saying such a thing. In his last TN interview he clearly said he didn't, and explained that it was a wrong interpretation of his point. A translation like "Las declaraciones que [erróneamente] se le atribuyen a Nisman son falsas" would have been more on the spot. But "Lo que dice Nisman es falso" has more pun, right? And it can be exploited politically, as it was. After all, who cares? The guy was dead that same day...
