I have a US number on which I can set up call forwarding. What's the cheapest way I can make that make my Argentine cell phone ring?

Skype?

I am using Skype for what you are considering. I have a local US number with Skype and that have that number setup to call forward to my Argentina home phone first and then my Argentina cell phone. I paid $18 for the number for three months and the calls that are forwarded cost about 25 cents a minute to a cell and 3 cents a minute to a land line.

The cost is one thing but the quality of the calls in another. But for $28 ($18.00 for the number and $10.00 credit) it is worth trying out.

Skype is a good option. When we come down to AR, we have our US cell numbers forward the calls to our Skype US numbers, which rings on our computers and iPhones here in AR. The forwarded call in the US is either free or small fee (US # to US #, depends on carrier and plan) and receiving calls on Skype is free. It's seamless for our friends and family in the US (they keep calling the same # to reach us, whether in the US, AR, or anywhere else). The only costs involved are buying your Skype online number, and adding some $ credits to it to make outgoing calls.
