Chiropractor

I just went to Hugo today for the first time. It was my first time at a chiropractor, so I really had no idea what to expect -- and to some degree I still don't. He didn't do any crazy popping of my body (like I saw in youtube videos), but he's very knowledgeable and friendly. I'm going to try him for four sessions, and then I'll judge his effectiveness.

His current rates (ARS) are:

1st visit - $160
1 session - $130
4 sessions - $380
6 sessions - $480
12 sessions - $850
24 session - $1,450
1-year - $1,650

His e-mail address is h.arg_quiropraxia (AT) hotmail.com.

Does anyone know if Dr. Penny also have reduced rates if you sign up for multiple sessions?

Tez or soulskier, have either of you ever been treated by Dr. Penny's colleague Dr. Serio? I can't make Belgrano...

Pardon the thread necromancy, but...

I need a chiroptactor, but I'm looking specifically for an activator method chiro. About a year ago, when I first started planning for this trip, I looked on activator.com and there was one listed for BsAS. Sadly, activator.com was taken over by rabidly commercial interests and started charging the docs $500 a year to be listed; now the listing for BsAS is gone. So I know there is at least one activator method chiro here, or was a year ago. Given that chiropractic is a community, I suppose I could just email various chiros and ask if they know someone who does activator method.

Activator method, by the way, involves the use of a spring-loaded plunger with a rubber tip, you just get a series of mild taps rather than being twisted like a pretzel.

It SEEMS that chiropractic is not as popular or known here as it is in the States. The only people I've ever known to use them are other Anericans..maybe because they aren't covered under any prepagos here, I don't know...but I've only been told (of course by other American) of two (personally) practicing here and one of the two left town a year ago. I'd be happy to hear of a competent, licensed, reasonably priced chiropractor of any type! Good luck and please share!

Birgit is the finest chiropractor I have ever had anywhere period.
She is a Dane working out of her apartment in San Telmo.
Go! She is amazing.

I second Birgit! She's incredible and is doing an excellent job fixing a couple of major long-term problems I have with my neck and lower back. She uses that plunger you mention (affectionately known as her 'pistola') as well as acupuncture too. https://sites.google.com/site/chiropractorbirgitbrunshoj/
I highly recommend her!

Oh yes, an activator method chiropractor! I am so there...

Thanks very much to you both, nledec and liponlegs23, you have made my day!

**edit**

Oh hell yes, and she takes PayPal, sweet!

I'll chime in for Dr. Craig Penny at Family Chiropractic in Las Cañitas. My wife and I see him and he's fixed us both up nicely. From what I understand, he doesn't follow the traditional pain-management philosophy, but I don't really know what his philosophy is. Whatever it is, it's been helpful.
