Chorizo For Macri At White House Luncheon Hosted By Trump

See, even the department of state knows that it's the "Argentine Republic". I propose we automatically ban members who use the word "Argentinian" in more than 2 posts in any given 12 month period.

May we assume that the banning would be triggered by " we reside in the Argentinian Republic," but not by "that was a typical Argentinian pendejada?"

Argentine pendejada! The other one is a gringo pendejada

How to put this? Your take on this would be ... well, wrong.

The -ian suffix means "relating to," thus, "Argentinian" is "relating to things associated with Argentina." If you mean "nobody says it that way," that's called an "opinion." We all have those.

It seems both spellings are commonly used.

Look at the "ine" suffix from the link you just posted. Argentine is the preferred demonym and adjective form according to not only the Associated Press style guide but also pretty much every Argentine on the planet.

So now it's "preferred, vs "Argentine pendejada! The other one is a gringo pendejada.?"

Since "preferred" equates more closely to "opinion" than to "gringo pendejada," It seems the case is made.

Prefered by style guides is as close to the right way to do it as we get in English. There is no analogue to the RAE

I never use "Argentinian." I was responding to the arrogance of your assertion that anyone using it was guilty of a "gringo pendejada," and that your take on it was the only legitimate one. You walked that back when you said "preferred," which is accurate.

So please, don't try to change the subject from "this is wrong" to " this is better."

Now, if you were just being facetious the first time ...?
